The herald’s tour of Yorkshire during 1563 and 1564 created a snapshot of what was believed to be the family tree or pedigree of many families - including this version reproduced in the 19th century.

The arms are described as “Les Armes de Strangwais - dyamont a deulx Lions passants perle et Ruby pales de vj pieces, armes topace”

And the family line starts from Henry Strangways (of Lancashire).
